Delivery

Your Location

After you have chosen your tank you will want to plan for delivery. Tanks are large to handle and to deliver. A great delivery does require a certain amount of preparation.

Firstly, discuss your delivery location with your store’s irrigation expert. Additional charges may apply for deliveries outside the shaded area.

Large Loads

This handy Vicroads app helps to identify if a permit may be required:

Web links move from time to time. If the above window is not working, please head directly to the NHVR website here then search for 'National Network Map'. When you are in the map, add the layer "Victoria > Oversize & Overmass > Class 1 Vehicles".

Scheduling

If you have a delivery timeframe in mind we will always do our best to deliver to that. Please make it clear to your reseller though so that our delivery team can be made aware. For speediest possible delivery, being flexible helps.

When ordering, please advise your full delivery address and clarify any ambiguous locations or restricted approaches, if you have site access restrictions and any other special delivery requests. Issues we need to be aware of include mud, low trees, narrow driveways, parking restrictions, nearby schools, alleyway access and so on.

Vehicles on site

When planning for your delivery day, it is important to note that our delivery vehicles are up to 19 metres in length, 3.5m wide and 4.5m tall. Curbside is the default delivery location; beyond this point requires an assessment of safe access by the driver. It is helpful to position the truck as close as possible to where you want your tank, however our vehicles may only enter your property provided:

  • it is safe to do so
  • clear access is provided for the vehicle (suitable pathway, adequate clearance each side and clearance above - this includes tree branches)
  • there is no risk of damaging the vehicle, the tank or your property (for example, we will not move tanks over a sealed driveway)
  • it can be done within a reasonable time frame (10 minutes)

Otherwise, tanks will need to be left at the nearest practical location at our driver’s discretion.

Tanks on site

You will likely have chosen where your new tank will be positioned by this stage. It is important to note though that our drivers can generally place tanks next to the truck only. If tanks need to be moved onsite, you must arrange for further assistance and have planned a clear route to where you want your tank. The points listed above in ‘Vehicles on site’ also apply when moving tanks.

Lifting tanks into position

There are a number of methods to lift tanks into position. In all cases, tanks must only be lifted when empty (dry lift only). Please plan your lift carefully. Tanks are heavy objects even when empty - your responsibility is to ensure your own safety and also the safety of those nearby. All OH&S procedures and precautions relevant to the task must be carried out.

Tanks can be ordered with factory installed lifting points for crane lifts. Please ask your reseller for these to be fitted when you place your tank order. If you have ordered without lifting lugs, alternative methods include:

  • Round tanks may be lifted by wrapping a "belly strap" around the tank about three quarters of the way up the sidewall and lifting off that. Appropriate care must be taken to ensure the belly strap cannot slip up.
  • Slimline tanks can be lifted by running a sling through the through holes in the tank.
